Hey gang! My fiancé and I are taking off road-tripping across the Southwest for the next two weeks, and considering I got some sweet markers for Christmas, expect a lot of weirdo art upon my return! AAAAND expect for a lot of updated material around here also because....I am starting an internship with the design department of Nickelodeon at the end of the month! Aaaaaahhhh! 2016 is starting off strong!
When you make lithographs by hand, things get messy...fast!
But it all starts off with an image-- in this case, a simple Sedona, Arizona travel poster I whipped up in Illustrator:
Then, you have to separate the colors on to two pieces of frosted mylar in order to expose them to your lithography plates. For my first project, I had to hand draw them...ouch.
The left image (the "sky") I hand-colored with oil based sharpie, the right one (the "cliffs") I drew and colored with china marker.
Then, once everything is done, you expose your plates, ink them up, and start to make proofs!
Finally, you combine the two plate imprints onto one piece of (hopefully nice!) paper for your final print!
And you print....A LOT of them! You'll turn into a one woman printing press in no time!
It's a lot of work, but one of the most fulfilling art endeavors I've ever embarked upon!
My next round of lithographs are getting digitally exposed to the plates, so I was a bit more ambitious with my design:
Can't wait to see how it turns out! Stay tuned!
Hey guys! I recently completed a logo for Anthony Tomassi Wedding Photography and it just went live!
Anthony also got these really cool thumb-drives made up for his clients with the logo-- they look pretty sleek!
Anthony's work is pretty awesome-- check out his wedding photography through the above link and get at me if you'd like me to create your new logo!
